In the November 2003 edition of All About Beer Magazine, John's Grocery was picked as one of the top 79 beer retailers in the world.

The magazine used the following criteria to pick the rest beer retailers:

• Diversity of selection - lots of choices among beer styles and regions
• Customer service - great staff that is passionate about beer
• Education programs and materials - hosts tastings and has a selection of reading materials
• Other products - the store stocks more than just beer. Items such as glassware, food, kegs and party planning are offered
• Exceptional education of staff - the store educates its staff through organized tastings and travel
• Service above and beyond - the store seeks out rare beers, offers classes, reaches out to customers, fun to visit, etc.

The editors of the magazine felt that John's does all those things and we couldn't agree more. We are very pleased to be mentioned in this well-respected magazine next to other great beer retailers like Hopduvel in Ghent, Belgium, Bottleworks in Seattle, and Belmont Station in Portland.
